4/7/09:
It's official. UNC took the hammer to Michigan State in the 1st 5minutes of the game and nailed tight the coffin. UNC never looked back as they easily strolled down victory lane. Sparta is no more and the men of 12 spills away into history.
Congrats to BEANIE, JenHolme and Tracy for taking 1-2-3. Ironically, the last place finisher mcasey256 took the final score and actually won more than his donation.
Next year, MM2K10 will be 12 years old. We will be recruiting earlier in January with a donation of 20points. Please share the news of the pool as we used to have 50+ players in the early years.

4/4/09:
UConn is out! Long shot - the Spartans have taken over Detroit and looking to take down UNC. What a wild finish as the Huskies came back from a 11 point deficit to close in by 4points. The last 2 minute rush wasn't enough as the Spartans take the W. UNC on the other hand, easily handled Villanova and will meet the Spartans on Monday.

What a weekend of surprises and unexpected losers/winners. Pittsburgh was finally eliminated by Villanova cleaning house of Duke then Pitt. Pitt has been struggling all tournament and the steam ran out - kaput! UNC and UConn are on cruis control while Louisville fell to the Spartans! We are SPARTANS facing UConn this weekend.
We've got Beanie, Phantom Bob and Rusty fighting it out for 1st place with the best place finish Player Scenarios. Check out the report and see where you stand! Yours truly lost it with 6th place best finish after the Spartans took down Louisville. There's always next year!!

We are still collecting and will post all final donation payouts ASAP. Please check the Players Report to check if you have cleared payment.
We are moving towards the Final Four and unfortunately Duke will not losing to Villanova. UConn has been impressive man handling their opponents; however, Pitt has been winning but struggling to keep pace.
We now have the much anticipated Player Scenarios. Check your best place finish and find out who you need to root for into the Championship Game!!

Welcome to MM2K9, now in its 11th year!!
What a start to a tumultuous weekend of shear Madness. Going into the 2nd round we already have AZ deafeating Utah and Cleveland St taking down Wake Forest in an easy 15pt romp. Even Florida State had problems at the buzzer losing to Wisc. Where did W Kty come from taking down Illinois?
Here's a flash update... Most had BC into the 2nd round with some to the Elite 8! What a disappointment.
Check out the reports page for an indepth standings and results. The Projected Standings is one of the best reports. It provides the highest possible points.
As of now, Mapes is taking charge with 183pts followed by a field of 4 closing in at 182pts.
All is not lost, check out the Tournament Summary for a breakdown of which teams were selected to go all the way!!

MM2K9 is now in its 11th year. A donation of 25 points is the entry into the tournament.
The rounds are scored as follows:
You will receive points for each correct game winner you choose. The number of points will be calculated as follows:
Round 1 win - 1pts
Round 2 win - 2pts
Round 3 win - 4pts
Round 4 win - 8pts
Round 5 win - 16pts
Pick Chamption - 32pts
The total possible points is 192.
The following tie breakers will be used in ascending order in the event of any ties:
a. The total points in the Championship Game.
b. Picked Champion.
c. The highest winning pick percentage.
d. If the tie still persists, the tallest person WINS.
Not responsible for lost, late, misdirected or ineligible entries.
Disregard the Tuesday games for the 64th/65th seeds. |
